Husband and wife who grieve their lost pregnancy find a litter of abandoned kittens in a paper bag that desperately needed the one thing they had left to give: 'We were very much looking forward to being parents.'

We're not sure if we believe in fate, karma, destiny, or any other concept that alludes to providence. But it's very hard to deny the causes and effects of the CDS on the lives of cats and people who needed each other the most at the very same time.

When we hear of a purrfect match between a cat and a person, our hearts expand. It's always a happy occasion when a person finds their forever feline, or when a cat finds a forever home. But when a cat with a specific need finds the exact human who can provide them exactly that, while the people in question also have a specific need that can be filled by said cats in need - that's some real-life meowgic.

We're not here to debate beliefs, but to provide our own purrspective on the Cat Distribution System, this mysterious thing that cannot be described but is present in so many cat adoption stories that we're having a hard time denying its existence. Especially when it makes even the saddest of situations, like these husband and wife who lost their first pregnancy prematurely, who found the nearest litter of kittens who needed someone to care for them as a parent would. We can't deny the poetry written in real-life situations such as this.

We hear of many stories of kittens abandoned in the most horrid of ways. Sometimes in a dumpster alley behind a building, sometimes dumped in a ditch on the roadside, and other times in people's property - just driving by, leaving the kittens, and driving away. All are absolutely maddening to read about, but this one is just so randomly sinister.
A paper bag? Really? In a paper bag, kittens are essentially invisible. People just walk by litter like a paper bag, but they usually will not walk by and ignore a litter of kittens. So why hide them from any potential rescuer? It's not like a paper bag provides these smol kitties any shelter and protection from the elements. Seriously… A paper bag… Oof.

We can't even begin to imagine the pain this sweet couple was, and probably still is, in. This loss is incomprehensible, especially for people who have never experienced something as painful as this.
But really, if there's any consolation to be had after such a tragedy, we're glad at least this litter of kittens got their loving forever home. Not that we're wishing for this situation to happen for a cat adoption to be a consolation for, not at all. We're happy for the kittens regardless - and happy kittens make everyone around them happier. And all we can hope for is that these little ones provide at least a little bit of happiness for this couple. They really need it.
